PARR i s the single and total source for home building supplies, solutions, and service for professional home builders of large and mid-sized communities and single custom homes, and for motivated homeowners working on home improvement projects.

Job title : Class B CDL Driver

Pay : Starting at $22 - $27 an hour, depending on experience.

Schedule : Monday-Friday starting around 6am and working until all loads for the day have been delivered.

Location : West Linn , Oregon

At PARR, our Drivers are essential to fulfilling the needs of our customers by making sure they are receiving their orders on-time and in great condition.

The ideal driver is someone who is driven to maintain safety regulations and above and beyond customer service.

The Driver reports directly to the Yard Manager and interacts daily with customers, dispatchers, receivers and load-builders.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • Ability to speak, write, and read English required
  • Class B CDL or higher
  • Must be 21 years old or over
  • Current DOT Medical Card
  • Acceptable driving record
  • Knowledge of vehicle safety audits and reports of any malfunctioning equipment as required by Federal and state regulations and company policy
  • Ability to manage time and routes for a streamlined delivery experience
  • Open and transparent communication
  • Familiarity with GPS devices or map applications
  • Driving experience within 50-mile radius of primary location preferred

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Safely and efficiently load and unload building materials from commercial motor vehicle
  • Legally, safely, and efficiently travel to destinations through public and private roads
  • Complete mileage and fuel usage reports
  • Demonstrates commitment to on time and in full deliveries
  • Learns and uses route planning and optimization
  • Perform daily pre-trip and post trip inspections of all equipment
  • Establish and maintain professional relationships with customers, contractors and vendors
  • Perform required safety audit of vehicle (daily safety audits, weekly brake inspections) and promptly report any malfunctioning equipment as required by Federal and state regulations and company policy
  • Promptly report all accidents / incidents
  • Annually update driver's qualification file as required by Federal and state regulations and company policy
  • Finds productive work to do in down time
  • Keeps truck supplied, organized, and clean
  • Comes to work professionally attired
  • Checks load for accuracy
  • Proactively manages job site conditions for next delivery and communicates with others
  • Always provides required paperwork and scanning for dispatch
  • Seeks to learn products and their application for the end users
  • Demonstrates legal and thorough knowledge of tie down rules and regs
  • Understands weight, height, and length limits
  • Ensures that all material transported on the truck has either an invoice or Material Returns Form
  • Learning best practices related to efficient loading, strapping, and driving

This is considered a safety-sensitive position. Drivers will be working at a lumber yard and making deliveries at jobsites in all weather conditions.

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to lift up to 90 lbs.
  • Must be able to work outdoors in all weather conditions
  • Ability to sit for an extended period of time
  • Ability to stoop, bend and walk
